DOGVILLE
by Lars Von Trier in a theatrical adaptation by Christian Lollike
A dark anatomy of human nature
Premiere: Wednesday 25th November
Aris Biniaris will present his own version of Lars von Trier's iconic film *Dogville* with his new production at the Piraeus Municipal Theatre in November 2026.
With his electrifying stage language, he transforms the abstract universe of Dogville into a ritual of intensity and revelation. The unseen tensions of the play permeate the words, the actions, the pauses, while the actors bring to
the surface the underground vibrations and the internal tremors of this dark parabola.
The community of Dogville – a closed system of fear and ersatz moral order, a world of silent violence – is transported to
a scene like a living control mechanism, where the pressure escalates incessantly and becomes sensorially present.
So the viewer is placed within a charged field, where evil is gradually legitimised, while at the same time an relentless question simmers: how much forgiveness can injustice withstand?;
